The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department Oct. 27 through Nov. 18, 2025.
Monday, Oct. 27
Police responded at 3:53 a.m. to a home in the 300 block of Roosevelt Street for a suicidal male, reported by his ex-wife. After multiple prolonged attempts at communication, officers were able to persuade him, with the help of a friend, to come outside to speak with them. They removed a gun from his front pocket and transported him to the hospital, where he registered a .31 BAC. Northwest Connections approved an emergency detention for him.
Tuesday, Nov. 4
- Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 10:25 a.m. at 501 Wild Rose Ave. between a 2011 Chevy Silverado, driven by Kendel Aryn Staut, 18, Rice Lake, and a legally parked 2013 Toyota Highlander, owned by Elizabeth Anne Eide, Woodbury, Minn. While trying to park, Staut rolled into the vehicle in front of her. Neither one had any damage.
- Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash at 3:19 p.m. on Highway 35/65 just south of Cascade Avenue between a 2021 Chevy Trax, driven by Ashley Kate Dougherty, 29, Baldwin; a 2024 Ford Bronco, driven by Shawn Marie Fox, 63, Cumberland; and a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 16-year-old River Falls juvenile. All three vehicles were heading north on Highway 65 approaching the Cascade Avenue intersection in congested traffic when Fox allegedly braked quickly, at which point the juvenile rear-ended her and pushed her vehicle into Dougherty’s Chevy, who was in front of Fox. EMS transported Fox to River Falls Area Hospital with possible injuries. Dougherty and the juvenile reported no injuries. The Trax and Wrangler had minor damage, while the Bronco was towed due to disabling damage.
- At 5:45 p.m., a Family Fresh (303 S. Main St.) employee reported thefts that had occurred Oct. 30 and Nov. 4. A man with gray hair and a gray beard around 55-60 years of age filled a cart full of food both times and left without paying. He did the same thing again on Nov. 7. Police identified him as Trent D. Brunn, 54, and trespassed him from the store.
- Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 5:49 p.m. at Winter and Division streets between a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Alice Mae Wiedmeyer, 18, Norwalk, and a 2012 Buick Verano, driven by Christopher Robert Stolp Jr., 34, River Falls. Stolp was traveling east on Division Street when Wiedmeyer entered the intersection and struck his vehicle. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported. Wiedmeyer was cited $98.80 for fail/yield right/way from stop sign.
- At 7:10 p.m., a resident at 117 Church St. reported damage to his mailbox lock. When he went to open his mailbox, the lock fell out and was broken. The cost to replace it was $40.
- Noah Raymond Angus, 26, River Falls, was cited $124 for operate without valid license after a traffic stop for speeding at 10:53 p.m. at Winter and State streets. Angus parked the vehicle and had a friend pick him up.
Wednesday, Nov. 5
Police responded to a disturbance at 5:46 p.m. at 1518 S. Wasson Lane where they learned two women had been arguing about their relationship. After locating the second woman, who had left on foot, police determined no crime had taken place. The parties agreed to remain separated for the night.
Thursday, Nov. 6
- At 10:27 a.m., the owner of Second Star (114 S. Main St.) reported that someone without permission had written and cashed six checks totaling $2,350. She provided police printouts and video footage of the suspect in the store. The man in question had been helping out another employee with tagging items and had no authority to use the business checkbook. The case remains under investigation.
- Gilbert Orantes, 32, River Falls, was arrested and cited $200 for operate without valid license (second within three years) after a traffic stop for speeding at 7:39 p.m. at Main and Park streets. He was also arrested for felony bail jumping and transported to Pierce County Jail while his girlfriend took possession of the vehicle.
Friday, Nov. 7
- At 9:47 a.m., an employee reported that someone had illegally dumped garbage in the dumpster at Heartland Montessori (1107 S. Wasson Lane). It appeared someone had cleaned out their residence.
- Police responded at 5:08 p.m. to Family Fresh (303 S. Main St.) for a shoplifting complaint. Video surveillance showed that Trent D. Brunn, 54, River Falls, had stolen $162.53 worth of merchandise on four different occasions, including on Nov. 7 around 2:25 p.m. Brunn denied stealing anything when first confronted, but later admitted to stealing when he was short on cash. He was cited $187 for retail theft – intentionally take and trespassed from the store.
- A 2012 Lincoln MKZ, driven by Haley Marie Ewald-Horejsh, 20, Hugo, Minn., had to be towed due to disabling damage after striking a deer at 7:14 p.m. on Highway 35 just south of Highway 65. Ewald-Horejsh reported to injuries.
Saturday, Nov. 8
A 2013 Chevy Cruze, driven by Justin Michael Snell, 28, River Falls, struck a deer at 9:28 p.m. on Highway 65 just south of Cascade Avenue. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported.
Sunday, Nov. 9
- Sayra Silvana Gonzalez Gonzalez, 22, River Falls, was arrested and cited $200 for operate without valid license (second within three years) after a traffic stop at 1:51 a.m. at Main and Foster streets. She had been warned earlier in the night for the same offense after being found in a park after hours.
- Hailea Marie Rombach, 21, River Falls, was arrested and cited $986 for OWI after a traffic stop for expired tabs, making a U-turn on Main Street and speeding at Main and Broadway streets. Rombach didn’t pull over for police until she stopped at Kwik Trip (1200 S. Main St.) She said she’d been downtown drinking vodka and lemonades at Mel’s. She smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. She also blew a .15 BAC. She was arrested and released to a sober adult.
- At 5:50 p.m., police received word from Woodbury police that two River Falls residents were caught on camera stealing from Walmart in their city. Police found the couple, identified as Kaytona Mayotte, 22, River Falls, and Gilbert Orantes, 32, River Falls, and pulled them over at 1025 S. Main St., where Orantes said they were picking on him due to multiple recent arrests. The couple admitted to taking a black coat, leather gloves, a vest and weight loss pills. They turned the items over to police and will be cited by Woodbury police.
- A 2014 Ford Explorer, driven by Tonya Raye Reis, 52, Ellsworth, struck a deer at 7:36 p.m. on Highway 35/65 just north of Hoffman Place. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Reis reported no injuries.
Monday, Nov. 10
- At 4:02 a.m., police found a Siberian Husky at River Falls Police Department (2815 Prairie Drive). Police were not able to find the owner from the chip. A veterinarian provided it a rabies shot and the dog was taken to River Bluff Humane Society in Red Wing, Minn.
- Brianna Sue Mikla, 24, Baldwin, was cited $691 for failure to stop for school bus after a traffic incident at 7:05 a.m. at Cemetery Road and Sorenson Street.
- Juan Alfonso Macas Gualan, 52, River Falls, was cited $124 for operate without valid license and $250 for fail/yield to stop for emergency vehicle after a traffic stop at 8:58 p.m. at Main Street and Paulson Road.
Tuesday, Nov. 11
- A 2022 Honda HR-V, driven by Linda Anne Nill, 54, River Falls, struck a deer at 7:05 a.m. on Highway 35 just north of Highway 65. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Nill reported no injuries.
- Police responded to an illegal dumping complaint at 11:25 a.m. at West Wind Supper Club (709 N. Main St.) where someone had placed items in the dumpster without permission at 9:45 a.m. Nov. 10. The incident was caught on video. A 39-year-old woman admitted to the act, saying she had dissected a sheep’s heart and didn’t want it in her trash. She received a warning.
Wednesday, Nov. 12
- Police responded at 8:30 a.m. to Crabtree Hall (850 E. Cascade Ave.) for an 18-year-old Appleton man found passed out in the stairway surrounded by vomit. The man admitted to drinking “quite a bit” of alcohol and registered a .142 BAC. A university employee walked the man back to his dorm. The incident will be referred to campus police for possible citations.
- At 11:55 a.m., a 98-year-old man was found unresponsive in the floor of his apartment at 555 N. Main St. No signs of foul play were noted, and his body was released to Bakken-Young Funeral Home.
- At 2:05 p.m., police were notified that a 17-year-old juvenile was suspected of breaking into his mother’s residence in the 900 block of Morgan Road after being asked to leave for drinking alcohol. The case remains under investigation.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:29 p.m. at Main and Pomeroy streets between a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Rivers Grace Eagleson, 21, Rhinelander, and a 2024 Ford F-150, driven by William Banning Jones, 55, Prescott. Both vehicles were traveling south on Main Street when Jones stopped to allow a vehicle to turn left onto Pomeroy Street. Eagleson didn’t notice that Jones had stopped and rear-ended him while scooping ice cream. Both vehicles had moderate damage. No injuries were reported. Eagleson was cited $111.40 for inattentive driving.
- Matthew John Joseph, 59, River Falls, was arrested for possession of THC and possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop for expired registration at 8:09 p.m. at Main and Spring streets. Joseph’s vehicle smelled of marijuana. A search of his person yielded a baggie of marijuana (25.05 grams) and a baggie of methamphetamine (.66 grams). He was transported to Pierce County Jail without incident.
Thursday, Nov. 13
Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 1:52 p.m. at Highway 65 and Division Street between a 2023 Ram Promaster, driven by Christopher K. Coffman, 54, Ellsworth, and a 2024 Ram 1500, driven by Monica Mayeli Kamrowski-Lopez, 41, River Falls. Coffman was heading south on Highway 65 when Kamrowski-Lopez, who had stopped at a stop sign, proceeded into the intersection, failed to stay in the turn lane and crossed in the path of Coffman, who struck her. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. EMS transported both drivers to River Falls Area Hospital with possible injuries. Kamrowski-Lopez was cited $313 for fail/yield right/way from stop sign (resulting in bodily harm).
Saturday, Nov. 15
- Damien Christian Roberts, 21, River Falls, was arrested and cited $986 for OWI and $986 for operating with PAC > .15 after a traffic stop for driving without lights at 12:26 a.m. at Winter and Falls streets. Roberts smelled of alcohol and had glassy, pink eyes. He said he’d had some beers downtown and was heading home. After agreeing to do field sobriety tests, Roberts tripped on a curb and fell toward an officer. He registered a BAC of .22 before being taken to the station. After booking, he was released to his aunt.
- Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 2:36 p.m. at Division and Winter streets between a 2022 Ford Bronco, driven by Lauren Ann Lake, 26, River Falls, and a 2012 Toyota Camry, driven by Benjamin David Lemke, 49, River Falls. Lake was traveling west on Division Street when Lemke, who had been stopped at a stop sign, pulled into the intersection and the two collided. The Bronco was towed due to disabling damage, while the Camry had moderate damage. Lake reported suspected minor injuries but was not transported. Lemke and Lake’s passenger, Jacob Michael Lasee, 26, River Falls, reported no injuries. Lemke was cited $313 for fail/yield right/way from stop sign (resulting in bodily harm).
- Thomas Joseph Buck, 19, River Falls, was cited $250 for failure to yield to pedestrians and $187 for possession of THC after a traffic stop for failing to yield to people in a crosswalk at Main and Cedar streets. Buck’s passenger, Ashlee Nicole Osorto Castillo, 18, New Richmond, was also cited $187 for possession of THC. Police, after smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, located multiple THC vapes and marijuana inside.
Sunday, Nov. 16
- Irving Freddie Saavedra Sanchez, 24, Hudson, was cited $124 for urinating in public at 2:29 a.m. behind Emma’s Bar (222 S. Main St.)
- Officers responded to a dog bite at 5:31 p.m. at 938 Falcon Drive. A woman said she was walking her dog in the 400 block of Birch Street when a dog ran into the road, chased her and bit her right leg. The dog’s owner said it was up-to-date on its rabies vaccinations; they were issued quarantine paperwork.
Monday, Nov. 17
- Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 5:23 p.m. at Main and Pomeroy streets between a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, driven by Coltra Amber Lierman, 28, River Falls, and a 2015 Toyota Rav4, driven by Helena Rain Rakovsky, 22, Hudson. Both vehicles were heading north on Main Street when Rakovsky rear-ended Lierman after looking down. Both vehicles had minor damage. Neither driver reported injuries. Rakovsky was cited $111.40 for inattentive driving.
- Officers arrested Magdelena Rose Mary Lewis Feeney, 18, River Falls, for a warrant at 8:45 p.m. at Kwik Trip (1238 N. Main St.) She was taken to St. Croix County Jail without incident.
- Police and EMS responded at 11:44 p.m. to 573 Roosevelt Court for a 73-year-old man in cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at the scene when lifesaving measures failed.
Tuesday, Nov. 18
Mauro Vicente Zhunaula Gonzalez, 39, Baldwin, was arrested and cited $200 for operate without valid license (second within three years) after a traffic stop for driving 5-10 mph, swerving and stopping at a green light at 6:35 p.m. at Main and Cedar streets. He was booked and released to a friend.
