ELLSWORTH – Attention to anyone who eats and wants to stretch their grocery bud –
get: You can receive groceries through Ru – by's Pantry the first Saturday of the month. But how does it work?
Ruby's Pantry is a 501(c)3 that gathers food overages, surpluses and bumper crops and distributes it at pop-up pantry locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin. There are no income or residency requirements and for a $25 donation, you will receive an abun dance of groceries.
From November through March, Ruby's Pantry's winter location will be at Pierce Pe pin Cooperative Services (W7725 US High- way 10, Ellsworth) from 10-11:30 a.m. the first Saturday of the month. Follow the signs and enter at the US Highway 63 entrance.
In case of inclement weather, refer to rubys – pantry.org, "Ruby's Pantry" on Facebook or "Ruby's Pantry-Ellsworth" on Facebook for updates.
At the drive-thru distribution, stay in your vehicle and stop at each cone as the shares are loaded into the back of your vehicle. Please try to have that area empty and try to bring exactly $25 for the donation in order to keep the line moving.
Who was Ruby?
According to the website, Ruby A. Flo – din lived in western Wisconsin for 89 years. She had little but always shared what she had with others. She had a large garden and often picked berries to can and freeze. She enjoyed sharing her harvest with others.
One Christmas, her neighbors down the road (who had four children) had no money or food. Flodin took food from her pantry and brought them Christmas dinner. Submitted by Ruby’s Pantry
