RIVER FALLS – University of Wisconsin- River Falls Marketing Communications students recently completed the Second Annual Gift and Thrift. The event, held on behalf of Adoray Home Health and Hospice, generated $3,000 in cash and $4,143 in clothing donations.
Gift and Thrift featured a thrift sale, pictures with Santa, a silent auction, and holiday crafts. Since 2011, Marketing Communications student-led events have generated over $50,000 in cash and merchandise for area charities.
“We are so pleased that the students are doing more than just fulfilling the requirements of a class by incorporating our store into their project,” said Lisa from Adoray’s Treasures From the Heart. “They are also giving back to the community and helping support sustainability.”
Student Madilyn Eastin echoed Lisa’s sentiments.
“Gift and Thrift taught us much more than how to plan an event,” Eastin said. “It taught us how to serve our community, make a difference, and value a cause that benefits so many individuals.”
Adoray’s Treasures From the Heart stores help raise funds to support unreimbursed medical expenses in support of Adoray’s Home Health and Hospice patients in surrounding communities. Adoray is committed to honoring the most cherished generation in their final days and making dreams come true for them. The organization goes above and beyond to give its patients quality care and exceed hospice expectations to wherever the patients call home.
