PRESCOTT – Here we are at the end of August and still no significant rain showers. When I hear we are to expect rain and only 30% chance for only a couple hours, it's almost always just sprinkles for a brief time. Thank you to all the gardeners who continue to water their vegetables and provide such delicious products at the farmer's markets.

Coming activities:

Wednesday, Aug. 26: Euchre card game will be played at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 27: Pickleball players meet for play at 8:30 a.m. at the outdoor courts on Court Street. Canasta card game will be played at 12:30 p.m. 

Tuesday, Sept. 1: Pickleball players meet for play at 8:30 a.m. at the outdoor courts on Court Street. Mahjongg will be played from 9-11:30 a.m. at Joy Lutheran Church (1435 St. Croix St.)

500 card game will be played at 1 p.m. Many of you have played in years past; come and join others in relearning this game.

Wednesday, Sept. 2: Cards Day when Euchre is played at 12:30 p.m. and Bridge is played at 1 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 3: Pickleball players meet for play at 8:30 a.m. at the outdoor courts on Court Street. Art 101 Watercolor meets at the Gathering Place at 1 p.m.  

Friday, Sept. 4: Memory Cafe meets from 10-11:30 a.m. at Freedom Park Visitor Center (200 Monroe St.)

We hope all have a nice Labor Day Weekend. We would love to see you Tuesday, Sept. 8 for a salad and dessert lunch at noon and a speaker at 1 p.m.

The Gathering Place is located at Prescott Middle School (1220 St. Croix St., Door 5.) Regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. All seniors age 55 years and older are welcome to attend.
