Local elections will headline ballots on April 2, 2024 in Pierce County, including seats for the Pierce County Board, village boards, city councils, school boards and town boards in River Falls, Trenton and Oak Grove.

The deadline for filing was 5 p.m. Jan. 2, 2024, except for Pierce County Board seats in districts 4 and 5, where the incumbents did not file papers by the deadline. In those districts, the deadline was extended to Jan. 5.

Here is a list of candidates who will appear on your local ballots. Incumbents are marked with an asterisk (*) and those who chose not to seek re-election are noted.

Pierce County Board (`17 supervisors)

District 1 (City of Prescott Wards 3-5) – Kris Sampson*

District 2 (Town of Clifton Wards 1-3, Town of River Falls Ward 5) – Jim Ashbach*

District 3 (Town of River Falls Ward 4, City of River Falls Wards 15-17) – Jon Aubart*

District 4 (City of River Falls Wards 6-7) – Ruth Wood. Lynn Paatalo* did not file papers to seek re-election.

District 5 (City of River Falls Wards 8, 9 and 18) – Ben Plunkett* did not file papers to seek re-election; Claire McCarty and Mark Klecker

Bay City Village Board (two seats)

A caucus was held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, where Norm Baker* was nominated for Trustee 2 and Jerry McConnell* was nominated for Trustee 4 with no challengers.

River Falls Town Board

A caucus will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 at the River Falls Town Hall (W9015 770th Ave., River Falls) where town residents can nominate candidates for the following positions (terms are April 16, 2024-April 2026):
