PIERCE COUNTY Sheriff’s Office Reports
The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriu's Ovce May 16-22.
Monday, May 16
Ovcers responded to a two-vehicle crash with no injury at 1:30 p.m. at Highway 29 and 640th Avenue, Prescott.
A pig was found at 4:35 p.m. at W7437 Highway 65, Beldenville.
At 7:37 p.m., police spoke with a man at N707 Foote Ave., Spring Valley, about people parking on his neighbor’s lawn. He wanted the information passed onto the Spring Valley Police Department.
At 9:19 p.m., police checked the area for two vehicles that had been racing each other near 770th And 810th avenues, River Falls. They were not located.
Tuesday, May 17
Police responded at 1:15 a.m. to N7652 650th St., Beldenville, for a woman who was bleeding but didn’t know from where. She had cut her head and EMS transported her to the hospital.
A caller reported a suspicious person near a residence at 8:35 a.m. at W8494 285th Ave., Hager City. Police made contact with a woman who said she didn’t need any assistance. She continued riding her bike down the road.
A fraud was reported at 9:42 a.m. at 733 First St., Plum City.
At 10:23 a.m., while at 229 W. Main St., Ellsworth, police saw a suspicious man running through the back lawn and between buildings. The man told police he was trying to find a ride back to River Falls and was running because he can. While talking to him, another man started yelling at them. Police told him he was free to leave.
Police saw a vehicle abruptly pull to the side of the road at 2:46 p.m. near Highway 35 and 370th Avenue, Prescott. The driver flagged the ovcer over, and requested her brother be removed from her vehicle because they were arguing. The deputy gave him a courtesy ride to Red Wing.
A caller requested a welfare check on a suspicious woman riding a bike at 2:50 p.m., near County Road K and 875th Street, Hager City. She wasn’t located.
Police were called at 4:02 p.m. to N7277 Highway 65, River Falls, for people trespassing on multiple properties. The people were picking plants and mushrooms for possible medical purposes. The property owners requested the items be left behind and the people not return to their properties.
At 6:02 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle without license plates on Highway 29 and County Road W, but it fled. The pur suit was stopped for safety reasons.
Ovcers responded at 7:29 p.m. to W9138 710th Ave., River Falls, for a suspicious vehicle. It belonged to someone who had permission to turkey hunt there.
A driver was arrested for a warrant, operating while revoked (alcohol related) and misdemeanor bail jumping after a travc stop for no front license plate and expired registration at 10:02 p.m. at county roads S and H near Maiden Rock.
Wednesday, May 18
Deputies assisted Dunn County Sheriu's Ovce in lo cating and interviewing people at 12:42 a.m. at W4890 Highway 29, Spring Valley.
A loose horse was reported at 8:56 a.m. at W12163 570th Ave., Prescott. The horse’s owner arrived while the complainant was on the phone with police.
Ovcers responded to a possible domestic at 9:42 a.m. at N8477 770th Ave., River Falls. No one wanted to make a report.
At 2:27 p.m., an ovcer re – sponded to the area of highways 10 and 63, Ellsworth, where a tractor had broken a trailer pin while pulling a cultivator. Police stood by while the cultivator was removed from the eastbound travc lane. At 3:14 p.m., a woman was asked to leave the Pierce County courthouse (414 W. Main St.) for being loud and disorderly to an attorney.
Deputies assisted Spring Valley police at 3:16 p.m. at S238 Church Ave.
At 6:09 p.m., police responded to smoke in the area of 160th Avenue and 367th Street, Maiden Rock. A man was told to extinguish the fire due to the Maiden Rock burn ban.
A deputy located an unoccupied suspicious vehi- cle parked in a field drive at 10:17 p.m. at W9099 Highway 10, Ellsworth. They left a voicemail for the vehicle’s registered owner.
Thursday, May 19
A deputy saw a suspicious vehicle pull into a driveway at 1:51 a.m. near 290th Avenue and 550th Street, Bay City, and later pull out and drive away. The driver admitted to pulling into the driveway because he didn’t have a valid driver’s license. He was arrested for felony bail jumping and operating without a license (second) and cited for trespassing. Police transported him to Pierce County Jail.
Police checked on a man in a vehicle at 8:32 a.m. near McKay Avenue and Third Street in Spring Valley. They were concerned he was having a medical issue, but he was sleeping.
Police responded at 4:28 p.m. to W9681 770th Ave., River Falls, where a tree fell on a vehicle.
Deputies were called at 4:52 p.m. for debris in the roadway at County Road B and 850th Avenue, Spring Valley. There were road signs blown down and in the road, blocking travc. At 4:53 p.m., dispatch received a call from a woman screaming in the phone from W6364 Highway 35, Bay City. She later called back and said she didn’t need police, but when police responded, no one would answer the door.
A roof blew ou a house while one person was inside at 5:27 p.m. at W2499 770th Ave., Spring Valley. No one was injured.
A tree and power lines were down in the roadway at 5:29 p.m. near County Road B and 170th St., Spring Valley. Deputies stood by until Xcel Energy arrived to remove the wires and trees.
A tree was removed from the road at 5:39 p.m. at 850th Avenue and Highway 128, Spring Valley.
Deputies were called for trees down in the roadway at 5:45 p.m. at Highway 128 and County Road B, Spring Valley.
At 5:49 p.m., a tree on the road was cleared near W3523 850th Ave., Spring Valley.
At 5:57 p.m., a deputy stopped to remove trees from the roadway at 770th Avenue and 290th Street, Spring Valley.
The county highway department removed a tree from the road at 6:01 p.m. at Highway 128 and 770th Avenue, Spring Valley.
The wind tore apart a street sign at 6:03 p.m. near the north intersection of highways 29 and 63, Spring Valley.
Storm damage was reported at 6:21 p.m. at N7927 County Road N, Spring Valley.
Debris was removed from the roadway at 6:22 p.m. near 890th Avenue and 330th Street, Spring Valley.
A tree was reported in the road across wires at 6:26 p.m. near W3872 770th Ave., Spring Valley.
A deputy removed a tree from the roadway at 6:37 p.m. near 850th Avenue and 165th Street, Spring Valley.
An ovcer found a tree on a house for sale at 6:46 p.m. at S448 Van Buren Road, Spring Valley. The realtor was notified.
Friday, May 20
At 6:09 a.m., EMS responded to N5830 County Road BB, Ellsworth, for a woman who was having trouble breathing. A deputy responded upon her death.
Deputies were requested to stand by during a rental property walk-through at 9:12 a.m. W6534 Carson St., Bay City. The tenant was no- tified and complied. A caller reported a trailer parked at the wayside (County Road AA/Highway 35, Maiden Rock) selling barn wood at 10:23 a.m. The trailer’s registered owner was called and told to remove the trailer by the end of the day.
Police responded to a single- motorcycle crash at 6:55 p.m. at 800th Street and Highway 10, Ellsworth. EMS transported a man to the hospital.
Ovcers responded to a possible domestic at 8:08 p.m. at N4962 County Road CC, Elmwood. Neither party wanted to fill out a statement; police helped the man find his lost phone.
At 10:52 p.m., a deputy checked on a vehicle pulled over with its hazard lights on at Highway 63 and 180th Avenue, Hager City. A woman said she was waiting for her sister to assist a pair of raccoons in the ditch.
Saturday, May 21
Police responded at 12:16 a.m. to N4479 1055th St., Prescott, for a possible assault. Multiple statements were gathered.
At 1:57 a.m., a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding near Highway 63 and 825th Street (north intersection), Hager City, but the vehicle fled. Deputies could not catch nor find the vehicle. A passenger was arrested at 2:48 a.m. for possession of methamphetamine and a felony warrant after a traf- fic stop for expired registra tion at Highway 63 ad 825th Street, Hager City.
At 10:59 a.m., an ovcer was flagged down by the property owner at N4150 400th St., Ellsworth, who reported having problems with trespassers who are “less than friendly.” One made sure he could see their holstered sidearm when he confronted them. He was advised to call police when the incidents occur and deputies said they’d provide extra patrol.
Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a warrant arrest at 11:57 a.m. at 159 W. Main St.
A caller reported fisher men trespassing at 1:06 p.m. at N8634 County Road Y, River Falls.
At 1:12 p.m., a caller reported an ex-girlfriend who trespassed on his property at N8014 690th St., River Falls. She apparently texted him about picking up her kayaks that were stored there, and when he didn’t respond, she came and got them anyway. He said she shouldn’t have come because he didn’t’ respond. He asked police to tell her not to come there again.
Police found a woman in the middle of the road at 2:28 p.m. at County Road FF and Highway 29. She was trying to die by suicide. She was taken to a mental health facility for an evaluation.
At 6:53 p.m., police responded to 501 N. Public St., Elmwood, for a deceased man found in the home.
At 8:10 p.m., police were asked to perform a welfare check at W10505 860th Ave., River Falls. When they arrived, the house had been moved and there were no signs of anyone living on the property.
Sunday, May 22
During a travc stop at 12:11 a.m. for expired registration at Highway 35 and 135th Avenue, Bay City, a vehicle backed up into a squad car. The driver admitted to drinking and using THC prior to driving. The driver was arrested for OWI, possession of methamphetamine, possess drug paraphernalia and possess with intent – THC.
Deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding at 5:08 a.m. at Highway 65 and 820th Street, Belden- ville, but the motorcycle fled. The chase was terminated before hitting village limits.
Ovcers were asked to check on a man sleeping in a vehicle at 10:09 a.m. at Highway 29 and 850th Street, Spring Valley. The man consented to a vehicle search and he was arrested for possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia.
A caller reported an unknown vehicle parked along the road at noon near Highway 128 and County Road B, Spring Valley. Police were on other calls at the time; when they arrived, the vehicle was gone.
At 6:37 p.m., a resident at W8108 760th Ave., River Falls, reported a Shopper box that had been knocked over. It was unknown if it was intentional or an accident.
At 8:05 p.m., police checked on a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road with its door open at County Road A and Highway 35, Maiden Rock. A man was removing a fawn from the road.
At 8:08 p.m., a caller reported a realty sign that had been struck by an ATV at N5331 1220th St., Prescott. The caller didn’t see it happen but wanted it documented.
At 8:55 p.m., police checked on two suspicious vehicles parked on the side of the road at Highway 35 and County Road K, Hager City. The occupants said they were watching trains and using RC vehicles.
Police found an intoxicated man walking in the middle of the road at 11:33 p.m. near Hill Street and Highway 10 in Ellsworth. He was lost and trying to find his way back to the place he was staying. Police provided him with a courtesy ride.
