PIERCE COUNTY Sheriff’s Office Reports

The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 15-21.

Monday, Nov. 15

A driver was arrested for OWI-third and cited for non-registration of auto after a traffic stop for speeding at 7:58 a.m. at Highway 35 and County Road C, Hager City.

Police checked on a vehicle on the side of the road at 9:02 a.m. at 1073rd Street and Highway 29, River Falls. The driver had pulled over to take a photo of a coyote running in the field.

A complainant reported someone placing trash on her property for the past two years in a phone call to police at 12:55 p.m. The incidents have been occurring at W11936 County Road FF, River Falls. Attempts will be made to identify the suspect.

At 1:43 p.m., police stopped two hunters about to enter the woods with firearms to hunt deer near county roads F and FF. The hunters were stopped before violations occurred.

A passerby rounded up loose goats at 2:33 p.m. at N7521 Highway 65, River Falls.

At 3:15 p.m., a complainant called police about two people hunting on his property at W4615 850th Ave., Spring Valley. The complainant had given them permission last year, but the land owner wasn’t them to get permission every time they go hunting on the property. The DNR warned the hunters, who left.

A caller reported at 4:14 p.m. that someone had cut the tail off her pony at N5591 Highway 63, Ellsworth. The incident occurred between Saturday evening and 4 p.m. Monday.

Deputies assisted River Falls police at 8 p.m. with a domestic incident at 2442 Dawes Place.

Tuesday, Nov. 16

Deputies assisted jail staff with a disorderly person at 9:19 a.m.

Police checked on a vehicle at 12:45 p.m. near 810th Street and County Road W, Beldenville. A student was using his phone WiFi to complete school work.

A man attempted to report a stolen vehicle at 3:04 p.m. at W3396 Highway 10, Maiden Rock. Police explained it was a civil agreement the man had entered into.

Deputies assisted jail staff with a disorderly inmate at 4:41 p.m.

Police responded at 7:44 p.m. to W8441 285th Ave., Hager City for a 911 hang up call. Both parties involved in a domestic incident didn’t want to pursue anything and separated for the evening.

Officers responded at 10:10 p.m. to W6750 Highway 29, River Falls for a physical domestic incident. A man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Wednesday, Nov. 17

At 1:03 p.m. a caller at N1639 County Road C, Bay City, requested extra patrol for speeders in the 45-mph zone.

Officers responded at 10:16 p.m. to W10003 Highway 29, River Falls, for a car vs. deer crash. The owner said she’d work on getting the vehicle removed; however, it was towed 48 hours later. The battery was dead so the flashers no longer worked. Police left messages for the owner.

Thursday, Nov. 18

Deputies responded at 12:12 a.m. to N3266 850th St., Hager City, for a suspicious man walking around the property. The man left in a loud, small car. Police located neither man nor car.

Officers spied a suspicious vehicle parked at N1299 825th St., Hager City at 1:18 a.m. The vehicle had paid for a parking pass and the owner said they’d move the vehicle at a later time.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash at 6:44 a.m. near 170th Street and Highway 10, Plum City. An accident report is being completed.

Police received a call at 10:31 a.m. from another agency about a man admitting to taking copper wire from a sand mine at W3302 Highway 35, Maiden Rock.

A complainant reported his neighbor speeding through the neighborhood at 2:51 p.m. at 155th Avenue and 721st Street, Bay City. The neighbor gave police a man’s name and said he speeds on 155th Avenue between 2:20 and 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 2:54 p.m. near Highway 72 and 290th Street, Elmwood. A crash report will be completed.

Police assisted EMS with a medical call at 7:04 p.m. at W123 County Road X, Plum City.

A rural River Falls resident reported a suspicious incident online at 7:33 p.m. He had inquired about a free punching bag listed online and the seller was threatening to take him to court. He wanted the incident documented.

At 9:51 p.m., police were called to Highway 29 Express (W4890 Highway 29, Spring Valley) for campers who could be heard arguing in a 911 call. Police arrived but a woman refused to provide information and said she had a ride.

Friday, Nov. 19

At 6:49 a.m., police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at N5330 387th St., Ellsworth (Langer’s Bar). Bow hunting equipment could be seen in the vehicle.

Police were called at 1:31 p.m. to N4488 Highway 35, Prescott, where two young children had locked themselves in a Chevy Suburban. Police were able to unlock the vehicle; both children were fine.

Police responded at 3:11 p.m. to N3613 550th St., Bay City, for an ill deer located in the woods. It was very skinny and barely breathing. The property owner agreed to take the deer’s head to a DNR testing site.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash without injuries at 3:41 p.m. near 950th Street and 739th Avenue, River Falls. Five teen males were occupants. An accident report will be completed.

Deputies responded to a domestic in progress at 5:02 p.m. at W11149 County Road M, River Falls. A person was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

A driver was arrested for operating while revoked and a warrant after a traffic stop for failing to stop at a stop sign at 11:44 p.m. near Highway 63 and 825th Street, Hager City. The passenger was cited for possession of marijuana.

Saturday, Nov. 20

At 3:36 a.m., a complainant reported someone ringing the doorbell at 334 W. Overlook Drive. No one was located.

Deputies assisted Prescott police at 3:58 a.m. at 725 Shane Park Circle.

Police responded at 6:40 a.m. to N3941 Highway 35, Prescott, for a possible fire. Employees were burning alternators in a wood stove located inside one of the buildings.

A deputy transported an arrested person for the DNR to jail from 130th Avenue and 170th Street, Maiden Rock, at 7:12 a.m.

A man called police for a trespasser at 11:47 a.m. at N5824 1040th St., River Falls. It turned out to be a misunderstanding.

At 1:41 p.m., a woman reported walkers on a nearby path trespassing on her property at N8202 950th St., River Falls. She said the path is marked but the flower garden and trees make it seem like it’s not a path. The caller was told to make the path clearer or take the issue to River Falls Township.

A caller reported a trespasser at 2:27 p.m. at W3465 890th Ave., Baldwin. The caller said the trespasser had been told to stay off the property in October, but was there hunting and driving on the land without permission. The suspect admitted to not asking permission and was cited.

At 3:16 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious man lurking around vehicles in the parking lot at River Falls High School. The man was moving baked goods from his wife’s car to his kid’s car.

Police received a property damage complaint at 3:45 p.m. at W12983 648th Ave., Prescott. Police left a voicemail for the complainant.

A man called police at 4:08 p.m. to report his neighbors for breaking into his house at N1348 Pine St., Bay City, and rifling through his coffee table magazines. He said he’s been harassed by his neighbors for three years. The doors were locked and there were no signs of forced entry. The issue is ongoing and the neighbors said they’ve never met him.

A caller reported a struck mailbox at 4:38 p.m. at W3206 450th Ave., Maiden Rock.

Police responded at 5:18 p.m. to N7984 870th St., River Falls, for a man found pulseless and not breathing when his son came to check on him after hunting. CPR was unsuccessful. His death appeared to be from natural causes, according to the medical examiner.

Deputies assisted RF police at 9:12 p.m. at 103 ½ N. Pearl St.

Sunday, Nov. 21

Officers assisted RF police at 4:58 a.m. at Liberty Road and County Road M.

Police responded to a minor fender bender at 8:40 a.m. at Maple Avenue West and Court Road in Plum City. The complainant had backed into a guardrail on County Road S. The guardrail had no damage.

Police were called about a speeder at 11:34 a.m. oat County Road C and 155th Avenue, Bay City. The suspect said he was going faster than the posted limit and that the complainant probably called because he called the police on the complainant last week. He was advised to obey the speed limit.

Deputies helped clear a tree from the road at 11:42 a.m. at N6240 Highway 65, Beldenville.

Police alerted the township about a downed tree covering the entire road at 11:46 a.m. near N673 825th St., Hager City.

At 1:14 p.m., police received an accidental 911 call from 721 First St., Plum City. The caller said there was no emergency, except the Packers losing to the Vikings.

Officers responded at 5:16 p.m. to W6784 Highway 35 where a female had no pulse and wasn’t breathing. Red Wing EMS pronounced her deceased.

A caller reported vandalism at 7:01 p.m. at W6418 Highway 35, Bay City. A window had been broken out of a work van over the weekend.

Deputies removed a fallen tree from the road at 9:37 p.m. at W975 630th Ave., Elmwood.
