Monday, Aug. 23

Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 2:55 a.m. at 176 W. Main St.

Extra patrol due to construction was requested at 8:48 a.m. at 805th Avenue/Highway 29, River Falls. Vehicles had been driving on the bike/walking trail.

Deputies arrested a man for a St. Croix County warrant at 9:28 a.m. at W6556 Maple St., Bay City.

At 10:14 a.m., a complainant reported that a lock had been cut off a drive-in gate at N1477 830th St., Hager City. The complainant also provided names and numbers for keyholders of the cemetery.

Police were informed of multiple storage units that were broken into at 12:43 p.m. at N7804 902nd St., River Falls. Statements and evidence were collected.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with no injuries at 4:26 p.m. at 570th Avenue/County Road J, Ellsworth.

At 6:49 p.m., police responded to N3440 County Road C, Ellsworth, to standby and keep the peace while people retrieved their property. The people were given a timeline to come collect other belongings.

A complainant reported that keys and sunglasses were stolen out of his vehicle at 8:04 p.m. at N8323 650th St., River Falls.

At 8:58 p.m., police pulled over three juveniles in a vehicle that was speeding at County Road DD and Highway 10, Ellsworth. After being cited, one parent came and picked up all three kids.

Officers responded to a domestic situation at 9:44 p.m. at W8441 285th Ave., Hager City. The complainant declined filling out a statement, providing information or having officers contact the suspect.

At 10:29 p.m., police observed a vehicle go down a dead-end street across from N3301 Highway 63, Hager City. The people said they were camping there and renting land from the property owner.

Officers responded at 10:45 p.m. to Highway 10/County Road S, Plum City, for a vehicle in the ditch. A tow truck removed the vehicle and follow up was conducted with the property owner.

Tuesday, Aug. 24

At 6:04 a.m., the Pierce County Highway Department cleared trees in the roadway at 170th Street/Highway HH, Elmwood. They also removed a tree at 5:56 a.m. from the roadway at N7078 Highway 128.

The township cleared a tree in the road at 6:14 a.m. at N2498 650th St., Bay City.

A tree had to be removed from the road at 6:22 a.m. at County Road A/Highway 35, Maiden Rock.

Deputies notified the township of a tree down in the road at 8:05 a.m. at 910th and 921st streets, River Falls.

At 8:48 a.m., police responded to N1327 County Road A, Maiden Rock, per Pierce Pepin’s request while they changed a meter and negotiated payment from the homeowner.

The township removed a tree from the road at 12:51 p.m. at 840th Street/County Road K, Hager City.

Deputies provided traffic control while the township removed a tree in the road at 1:32 p.m. at W8184 390th Ave., Ellsworth.

Police responded at 2:26 p.m. to N502 300th St., Maiden Rock, for a tree in the road. A citizen had cut enough of the tree to clear one driving lane. The township also responded.

At 4:57 p.m., officers responded to W7858 170th Ave., Hager City, for a civil matter in which people were not paying on a rental unit they were storing items in. They were given until the end of the day to move their items into the correct storage unit.

Deputies responded to a verbal domestic at 5:58 p.m. at N8279 1015th St., River Falls. Statements were collected from all parties; one man had already left the premises.

At 7:58 p.m., a juvenile in the county was taken into custody and transported to a juvenile center for making bomb threats, making comments about having a bomb, terroristic threats and obstructing.

At 10:41 p.m., police checked around the 400 block of First Street in Plum City for juveniles playing ding-dong-ditch. None were located.

Wednesday, Aug. 25

At 10:46 a.m., a caller told police that a fence had been taken down twice this year at N8847 Highway 29, Spring Valley; the complainant believes suspicious activity is occurring on the property and requested documentation and extra patrol.

At 1:21 p.m., police performed a welfare check on a home at W5322 250th Ave., Bay City, where the front door was hanging open. The home appears to have been abandoned. The front door was secured.

At 5:33 p.m., a complainant reported someone choking on food at N5509 County Road J, Ellsworth. While still on the phone, the person was able to get the food cleared and denied EMS.

At 10:52 p.m., PCSO received multiple calls about loose horses near the roadway at County Road OO/450th Avenue, Hager City. Ellsworth police assisted. No horses were located.

At 10:58 p.m., a complainant reported people in a vehicle shooting from the roadway near W7111 730th Ave., Beldenville. Deputies located no one, but the information was passed onto the DNR.

At 11:13 p.m., deputies responded to a verbal domestic at W7908 250th Ave., Hager City. When police arrived, neither party wished to make a report but one person needed assistance in leaving as the other party refused access to a vehicle. Police gave the person a courtesy ride.

Thursday, Aug. 26

At 9:53 a.m., a complainant reported a damaged mailbox at N5519 1090th St., Prescott.

At 1:05 p.m., a deputy responded to the PCSO lobby for a harassment complaint. A woman stated that a man was threatening to release an adult video they made together. Evidence was collected and contact made.

At 3:14 p.m., deputies responded to County Road O/Highway 65, River Falls, where a tree had fallen on a vehicle while it was parked along the road. No injuries were reported.

River Falls Township removed a tree from the road at 710th Avenue/820th Street at 3:32 p.m.

Deputies assisted with traffic control for a tree blocking the road at 3:35 p.m. at 290th Street/Highway 19, Spring Valley.

A deputy removed part of a tree from the road at 3:54 p.m. at N6602 720th St., Beldenville. Branches were still down on the southbound lane but were passable.

High winds blew down a stop sign which was discovered at 3:57 p.m. at 770th Avenue/ 902nd Street, River Falls.

River Falls Township removed a tree in the roadway at 3:59 p.m. at 770th Avenue/ 870th Street, River Falls.

A caller reported stolen license plates at 6:11 p.m. at W5440 Highway 63, Spring Valley.

At 10:48 p.m., police located a vehicle that had struck a turkey at W7562 Highway 10, Ellsworth. They gave the driver a self-report form and the vehicle was towed.

At 3:48 a.m., officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 50th Street/Highway 10, Plum City. When police arrived, the driver was removing himself from the crashed vehicle, fell down a hill and injured himself. EMS transported him to the hospital.

Friday, Aug. 27

At 9:43 a.m., a person was arrested at Pierce County Courthouse (414 W. Main St., Ellsworth) on a Hennepin County, Minn., warrant.

At 11:19 a.m., a complainant reported a light pole that had been hit and was left in the roadway at Highway 63/County Road VV, Hager City. The pole was not damaged, but the light needed to be replaced.

At 2:35 p.m., a deputy assisted a driver in changing a flat tire at County Road BB/Highway 72, Ellsworth.

At 3:50 p.m., a deputy provided traffic control while a driver fixed a loose lug nut at Highway 63/825th Street South, Hager City. The driver was warned for having an open container.

At 4:45 p.m., a complainant reported theft of electrical supplies at a construction site at N5517 170th St., Elmwood.

Deputies responded to a domestic at 7:03 p.m. at W7858 170th Ave., Hager City. The people needed mediation.

Deputies assisted Prescott Fire with a shed fire at 9:18 p.m. at W12681 570th Ave., Prescott.

A deputy checked on a suspicious vehicle at 10:01 p.m. at the Kinnickinnic public land access at 1130th Street/County Road FF, River Falls. The man said he was thinking before leaving for college the next day.

At 10:16 p.m., a man at W7280 170th Ave., Bay City, reported that he loaned his vehicle to someone and cannot get it back. Police attempted phone contact with the suspect and left a text message.

Deputies assisted River Falls police in locating a man attempting to break into a house at 11:37 p.m. at 509 ½ Maple St., River Falls.

Saturday, Aug. 28

Deputies provided traffic control while a downed tree was removed at 12:07 a.m. at 490th Street/Highway 10, Ellsworth.

Two missing dogs were reported at 7:03 a.m. at N6553 County Road O, River Falls.

Deputies found a fawn with broken rear legs at 10:03 a.m. at Church Avenue/Highway 29, Spring Valley. The fawn was dispatched.

At 8:20 p.m., a deputy assisted a person with changing a tire and getting to a gas station due to a pending storm at 385th Street/Highway 35, Maiden Rock. The vehicle had a second flat tire.

The township removed a tree from the roadway at 9:25 p.m. at 290th and 295th avenues, Hager City.

Police responded to a verbal domestic at 9:26 p.m. at N1640 733rd St. Hager City. Neither party wished to make a statement.

At 10:38 p.m., police stopped to check on a man sleeping in a vehicle on the side of the road at county roads SS and UU in Plum City. The man said he had been making phone calls and fell asleep before the rain started.

Sunday, Aug. 29

At 2:02 a.m., police were called for a tree blocking both lanes of traffic on County N near County Road J in Beldenville. The highway department was contacted.

Officers responded to a verbal domestic at 2:46 a.m. at W8945 Highway 10, Ellsworth. A woman there wanted to leave because she didn’t want to sleep in a tent while it was raining. The man didn’t want to leave. The man stayed and the woman went home.

At 5:50 a.m., police located a crash scene at 570th Avenue/670th Street, Ellsworth, where a vehicle had failed to stop for a stop sign and had driven into a standing corn field. No suspect was located.

The township removed a tree blocking the road at 7:03 a.m. at 690th Avenue/County Road E, River Falls.

Deputies provided traffic control while a tree was cleared at 7:20 a.m. at 370th Avenue/County Road O, Hager City.

Officers stood by while the highway department cleared a tree at 8:49 a.m. at 170th Avenue/ County Road EE, Bay City.

At 11 a.m., a caller reported his landlord was outside his residence at W5833 County Road N, Beldenville, yelling for him to pay up on late rent but was preventing the caller from leaving to get the rent. Both parties left before police arrived.

A deceased man was found at 1:03 p.m. at W9972 290th Ave., Hager City.

Police responded at 5:22 p.m. to N4891 Highway 63, Ellsworth, for an unexpected death. The medical examiner was called.

Monday, Aug. 30

Police were called to vehicle in the ditch at 12:12 a.m. near the railroad tracks in Diamond Bluff at 298th Avenue/ 980th Street, Hager City. Police contacted the driver. When he and his girlfriend came to retrieve the vehicle, the man was arrested for OWI.

Police stopped at 8:34 a.m. to check on a car parked at a rest area at 900th Street/Highway 29, River Falls. Two people were in the rear seat talking.
