RIVER FALLS – The River Falls Garden Club is a great place for anyone wanting more information on gardening. You don’t have to be a Master Gardener and members and speakers are here to help.

The club will host a plant sale 9 a.m. to noon May 7 at St. Bridget’s School Gym, 135 Division St., River Falls. The club collaborates with the UWRF Horticulture program to offer planted containers, hanging baskets, sun and shade annuals, vegetables, herbs, perennials, native plants and some houseplants. This is a popular sale so come early.

This single fundraiser provides scholarships for UWRF agriculture and horticulture students. Several local non-profits benefit from contributions including ARC, Habitat for Humanity, River Falls Food Pantry, and books and DVDs on gardening are purchased for the public library. For inquiries you may check our Facebook page or website, http:// rfgardenclub.org The club meets the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. for business and speakers begin at 7:30 p.m. The Garden Club was founded in 1957. It’s a great place for novice and experienced gardeners to learn and trade ideas. Membership is $10 a year including a newsletter. The Garden Club meets the first Monday of the month from February through June, and September (second Monday if La- bor Day is the first Monday) through Decem ber.

Curious about building a water feature in your yard? Want to learn how to use your yard and kitchen waste to benefit the gar – den? Want to attract butterflies? Do you grow herbs but want to know the many ways to use them?

Check out Earth Fest, 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 24 in Glen Park to talk with Garden Club members. Memberships will be available.
