Richard Johnson*

Position for which you are running: Chair

Tim Anderson*

Occupation: The owner of Tim's Tophat chimney sweep

Position for which you are running: Supervisor 2

Previous elected positions: Supervisor 2

Community/civic activities: I'm not involved in anything, I'm very busy with my work.

What are the biggest challenges faced by the township? Budgeting money for roads and future projects.

What are the strengths of the township? We have a great bunch of people that live in our township and stand behind us when we need to make improvements.

Why should people vote for you? I have lived in the township for 23 years now and I take a lot pride here and will continue to.

What is your favorite part of living in this township? How long have you lived here? I have been told more times than I can say what a beautiful area I live in. I help keep it clean and mowed when I can. I have lived here 23 years.

Mike Jacobson*

Occupation: Vice President of Operations-Food Service Specialties in Red Wing

Position for which you are running: Supervisor #1

Previous elected positions: I've had the privilege of serving on the Town of Spring Lake Board as a Supervisor since 2001. I am also the current Chairman of the Spring Valley Area Emergency Services, which includes both the Fire Department and the Ambulance Association. In the past I served as the Vice President of the St. John's-Spring Valley Church Council.

Community/civic activities: I'm currently an active member of the Spring Valley Snow Riders snowmobile club. In the past, when we had children in school, I served as the Treasurer of the Spring Valley Football Boosters and was also a member of the Spring Valley Lion's Club.

What are the biggest challenges faced by the township? The biggest challenges are maintaining our hard-surfaced roads and rights-of-way, keeping our equipment current and in good working order along with ensuring we take care of our patrolman and newly created appointed position of clerk/treasurer.

What are the strengths of the township? We are fortunate to currently have a patrolman who does a great job of keeping our roads plowed and sanded in the winter and our ditches mowed and roads maintained in the spring/summer/fall. He is also good with a wrench and takes good care of our equipment assets. Our clerk is also great at what she does and ensures we are in compliance with the numerous requirements by both the state and county. The natural beauty of our town's geography and the people that choose to make it a home make serving on the board an honor and privilege.

Why should people vote for you? Each of the current Town of Spring Lake Board members bring a unique talent and perspective/experience to the board that makes us efficient and effective in serving the population and needs of our town. I have worked in the food industry for over 35 years and am good at the budgeting/financial aspects that are needed on the board as well as dealing with the people that need representation locally and at the county.

What is your favorite part of living in this township? How long have you lived here? My wife and I have lived in the Town of Spring Lake for 36 years and raised our family of three children here. We currently own 284 acres and raise corn and soybeans on the farm that has continually been in the Jacobson family since 1867. The outdoor activities offered to us year-round combined with the natural beauty of the driftless topography make this an ideal location to call home. The proximity to world-class healthcare, education, travel and entertainment also works to our benefit.
