PRESCOTT KIWANIS CLUB
The Prescott Kiwanis Student of the Week is junior Kinsey Peterson, nominated by Prescott High School teacher Dylan Larsen.
“I have only known Kinsey for a few months, beginning with the second session of extensions, but I am confident that I will never forget her,” Larsen said. “In that short time, I have witnessed her pour her euorts into others and demonstrate empathy that is impossible to ignore. I’ve known her to deliver a gift to someone on her own birthday. Despite the demands of advanced classes and multiple extracurriculars, she ouers a consis tent smile in the hallways and a sincere conversation whenever we meet. I look forward to seeing her each day and look forward to seeing her grow.”
Kinsey is the daughter of Steve and Penny Peterson. She works at Freedom Park (Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center). She is a member of the Teen Advisory Board for the Prescott Public Library and the St. Croix Stars 4-H Club. She is also a student theatre ambassador at the Park Square and Stepping Stone Theatres in St. Paul and an assistant coach for kids’ tennis through Quickstart Summer Youth Tennis.
School activities include being a cross country team manager and thrower in track and field before leaving due to injury. The honor roll student is a member of Forensics, Writer’s Block, Book Club and National History Day. In her spare time, she enjoys art – painting, drawing, photography, writing, performing, all of it. She also loves reading, collecting rocks, playing DnD with her siblings, collecting porcelain dolls, traveling and visiting national parks.
She hopes to visit all the national park sites in the United States and travel the world. She would also like to attend college.
