Letter to the editor: Don’t support voter suppression!

Posted

To the editor,

The April 2 election will have two proposed Wisconsin Constitutional amendments. VOTE NO ON BOTH OF THEM!

The first constitutional amendment question is designed to short fund the election process without any guarantee that proper funds would be available. It takes money to run the mechanics of an election, so vote  NO on this constitutional amendment question.

The second question would limit who can be an election worker. This would stop the election officials from obtaining outside expertise and community support that would help make our elections run smoothly and accurately. That’s why you should vote NO on question 2.

These constitutional amendments which reduce support of our elections could lead to fewer polling places and long lines. That leads to voter suppression. They could also slow the way votes are counted which would lead to more accusations of fraud.

These two amendments are DANGEROUS.

Vote NO on both amendment questions on April 2.
