SPRING VALLEY – Spring Valley Seniors Staying Put, Inc. (S312 McKay Ave. PO Box 193) offers an array of non-medical volunteer services to help seniors and adults with disabilities maintain their independence. They also offer people the chance to volunteer in the rural tradition of “neighbors helping neighbors.” These services are offered at no charge, but donations are graciously accepted.

SVSSP has new office hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Call 715-778-5800 for a complete listing of services.

Meals on Wheels: For home-delivered meals information, call the ADRC of Pierce County at 715-273-6780, or the ADRC of St. Croix County at 715-381-4360. Staying Put volunteers will deliver meals to program participants Tuesdays through Fridays.

Congregate Senior Dining at Sneakers: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

Craftea: Held the third Thursday of the month at Staying Put office – tea, treats, crafts, conversation with friends! Reservations required and for a ride call 715-778-5800.

Strong Bodies Fitness Sessions: Co-sponsored by Pierce County/ADRC. Classes are held Tuesdays and Fridays 9:30-10:30 a.m. at SV Village Hall (E121 S. Second St.) Call 715-778-5800 to register.

Easy Chair Fitness: In development process. Call for info and/or for a ride 715-778-5800.

Books-to-go/SV Library: Volunteers will deliver a basket of books or movies to you for your reading/viewing enjoyment, along with a friendly visit. For more information call SV Library at 715-778-4590 or Staying Put at 715– 778-5800.

Tech Workshop: For personal help on your electronic or home device, call Staying Put at 715-778-5800.

Memory Café: Every second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. This is a social get-together for older adults held 10-11:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, S520 Church Ave., Spring Valley. Come share your memories with a friend or companion. Have fun and share stories, enjoy coffee or tea and treats, all are welcome. Animal Care: Could you use some assistance with animal-care? Call Staying Put at 715-778– 5800.

Transportation: Staying Put is now providing out-of-town transportation for groceries, banking, and medical appointments. Call 715-778-5800.

Elmwood Expansion: Staying Put will present/ services expansion to Elmwood community, Wednesday, May 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Elmwood Auditorium (323 W. Winter Ave.) A light luncheon will be served; sponsored by Pierce County ADRC. RSVPs are appreciated: 715-778-5800.

2022 Expanding Horizons Series: ‘Spring is for the birds’, expert-guided birding event, Tuesday, May 24, 9-10:30 a.m.; call to register at 715-778-5800.
