The 47th annual Trout Contest is rainy, but successful

Posted

The Eau Galle-Rush River Sportsman’s Club held its 47th annual Trout Contest Saturday, May 6 at the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club. The day started with a heavy mist and ended up with heavy rain. Fishing was fairly poor, but a few nice trout were caught. All in all, they had a productive day.

The club wants to give a big thank you to following people who helped out: Spring Valley Orange Crust trap shooting team, club members for donating their time, especially Jack Hines for his auction services, all the sponsors for their support, and all the donors to the auction. It was a big success. Also, thank you to the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club for the use of their facilities and their gift. Don’t forget to attend their chicken dinners!

The club has a busy time coordinating veterans fishing on club land, participation in the Beldenville Old Car Club Show & Swap Meet, the trout pond at the Pierce County Fair, a veterans hunt and work on the river and club land.
