The Eau Galle – Rush ….

The Eau Galle – Rush River Sportsman’s Club held its 45th annual trout fishing contest on opening day, May 1, 2021 at the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club. It was an awesome day, weather-wise. There were even some kids testing out the river. We had 60 trout brought in, the average being about 14 inches; the largest trout brought in was 3 pounds by Wade Sotona of Spring Valley (adult winner).

The youth winner was Cloey Linder, 14, Ellsworth, with a trout that measured 16 inches.

While the trout were being brought in, you could get an awesome breakfast followed by grilled chicken, carrots and potatoes at noon. We thank all who cooked, helped in the kitchen, helped with the scale throughout the day and any other job they did.

The auction will be done on Hines Online Auction. All the proceeds will go toward our handicap pier on our club land, that was washed out in the June 2020 flood. It’s surprising the number of people who come down and use the piers.

A big thank you to the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club for the use of their building and their donations. Thank you to all of our flyer ad sponsors.
