Raising $105,000 with the help of Pierce County residents and businesses
ELLSWORTH – The Hunger Prevention Council of Pierce County (HPC) launched its “We Go Beyond the Food Building Campaign” to raise $105,000 to pay off the USDA mortgage loan on its headquarters and Pierce County Food Pantry. Donations can be made at hungerpreventioncouncil.com/give.
The “We Go Beyond the Food Building Campaign” will run until the $105,000 is raised, and all funds raised will go toward paying off the restricting mortgage loan, preventing HPC’s impact on the community’s needs. Individuals and businesses can make donations on a one-time basis or through monthly support by becoming a “Go Beyond” monthly giver.
“Because of our loan, the USDA controls how we can use our finances, like how much money we need in savings, on hand, and with our investments. As a result, we currently have $60,000 we can’t touch that could go toward helping our community during this tough time in our economy,” said HPC President Trent Nyhus. “That’s why we’re asking for help to make our efforts go even further by helping us raise $105,000 to pay off the loan on our building.”
Once the money is raised for the building, HPC plans to grow its resources by taking HPC on the road through expanding mobile resources and further helping mitigate the root cause of food insecurity.
