CAUCUS
Monday, January 15, 2024 – 7 p.m.
NOTICE is hereby given that the 2024 Caucus of the Town of Oak Grove shall be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the town hall, N4939 1100th Street, Prescott, WI, 54021. The regular January town board meeting will follow. Members of the public are welcome.
The purpose of the 2024 Town Caucus is to nominate candidates for the following town board positions, term of April 2024 through April 2026:
•Supervisor III (incumbent Michelle Huber)
•Supervisor IV (incumbent James S. Boles)
All Oak Grove residents who are qualified voters may participate in the Caucus, which is held in lieu of filing nomination papers. Incumbents are eligible for re-election and have not filed notice of noncandidacy. Caucus nominations in Oak Grove are traditionally made orally, from the floor (a motion is made to nominate a candidate, then seconded). If three or more candidates are nominated for the same office, a vote must be taken at the Caucus to reduce the number of candidates to two. Final candidates will appear on the local ballot of the Spring Election, to be held April 2, 2024 (the first Tuesday in April).
Oak Grove’s elected officials are chosen at large, serving all town wards. Each two-year term begins the third Tuesday in April. Additional information can be found on the town’s website at www.co.pierce.wi.us (click Government > Municipal/Town > Oak Grove).
