Thursday, Jan. 20 Community Book Club, 6:30 p.m., 715 Steer & Beer (W6087 US Highway 10, Ellsworth). For ages 21-plus. This month’s selection is “Faye Faraway” by Helen Fisher. Let’s gather together to share our love of books, conversation, and community.

Friday, Jan. 21 River Falls Rally for Fair Maps, noon, Veterans Park, downtown River Falls. The Wisconsin Supreme Court will be hearing testimony and making a decision on the redistricting map for the next 10 years in our state. They need to know that the voters of Wisconsin are paying attention. Come out and be a part of one of 16 rallies being held around the state at the same time to show the Court we want an end to gerrymandering.

Saturday, Jan. 22 Sixth Annual Ice Kickball, 10 a.m., Eau Galle Rec Park (W Spring Valley). Cost is $30 per team of six (must have three girls per team). Must be 18 or older to play. ( W11983 820th Ave., River Falls). Drop in anytime 1-3 p.m. Meet in the parking lot that connects to the pink and blue hiking trails. Friends of the Kinnickinnic and Willow River State Parks will provide basic instruction on how to snowshoe. Cost is $5. Limited number of snowshoes to use. Park admission also required.

All proceeds go to St. Francis School.

Meet at the external parking lot on 770th Avenue off County Road F. Join the naturalist and discover one of her favorite winter hiking trails. The 3-mile hike goes through several different habitats and offers beautiful, ridge-top views of the Kinnickinnic. Dress for the weather and bring along water, good hiking boots and binoculars. Drive-Thru Steak Dinner, 4-7 p.m., St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (W5706 Highway 72, Ellsworth). Meal includes grilled steak, baked potato, special green beans, salad, homemade buns and dessert.
