The 2022 baseball season concludes a storied career for Michael Schurman as a Wildcat. Throughout his four years with RF athletics, he’s been a dominant force as a three-sport athlete in football as a wide receiver, basketball as a point guard, and baseball as an outfielder. He earned AllConference recognition in all three sports this year.

“Michael is the definition of a true athlete,” Bishop said. “Playing three sports is not an easy thing to do nowadays. Excelling as an all-conference athlete in all three is almost unheard of. Michael leaves quite a legacy in Wildcat Nation.”

The final River Falls player to receive AllConference Honorable Mention is Ragan Pin – now, who is the only Wildcat on this team to play varsity all four years of his high school career. Pinnow was notably on the 2018 Big Rivers Conference Championship and 2018 American Legion State Championship teams.

“Ragan has been a huge part of any success River Falls Baseball has had the past four years,” Bishop said. “Not many guys can say they won both a Big Rivers Championship and a Legion State Championship. Ragan played an important role in both of those, and our coaching staff is very grateful for Ragan’s contributions over the years.”

Pinnow batted .246 and led the Wildcats with three home runs this season. He was also the everyday shortstop and provided consistent defense at one of the most important positions on the field. Bishop spoke of Pinnow’s work ethic.

“There’s no one on our team that puts in more time and heart to the game of baseball than Ragan,” Bishop said. “Although his batting average may not be an accurate reflection of his abilities, there’s no question Ragan is a serious threat to opponents every time he steps up to the plate. He has been an everyday name around the league for a reason.”

Bishop concluded his comments by stating that there are many more players on his roster that helped the team win and were important to success. However, because there are a limited number of spots on the All _ Conference lists and because baseball is a stat-driven sport, they didn’t receive official recognition from the league.

“There are several players not on this list that made really important contributions to the team but didn’t have the stats to receive recognition,” Bishop said. “Without listing names, our coaching staff is proud of the efforts of many players this year both on and off the field. They all played a vital role in moving our team forward.”
