Freedom Park column: A season of gratitude

Another wonderful year comes to a close

Posted

As the leaves change color and the crisp autumn air settles along the Mississippi River, the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center at Freedom Park is nearing the end of another wonderful travel season. As we reflect on the 20th anniversary of serving our community, our hearts are filled with gratitude for everyone who helped make this year a tremendous success.

Throughout this travel season, the GRRVLC has welcomed numerous travelers and community members. Whether these visitors came to learn about the Great River Road, take in a program/event, discover our gardens, or simply take a moment to relax in our park and appreciate the view, we are grateful they chose to spend part of their journey with us.

Most importantly, we are thankful for the people who make our center and park such a special place. Our dedicated volunteers, generous donors, community supporters, and visitors all play an important role in helping us fulfill our mission. Your time, kindness, financial contributions, and continued encouragement allow us to keep sharing the unique offerings that only our center and park can share with people from near and far. We are especially grateful to the Prescott community and the many individuals, organizations, and businesses who recognize the value of our center and park. Your support helps ensure that we remain a place where people can create lasting memories with family and friends.

As a small nonprofit organization, the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center is more than a destination along the Great River Road, it is a place made special by the people who care about it and believe in its importance to our community and visitors. We depend on the generosity and involvement of others to continue our work. Every donation, volunteer hour, and word of support helps us maintain the center, provide educational opportunities, care for our natural surroundings, put on events, and create a welcoming destination for those traveling along Wisconsin's Great River Road.

Although the travel season is coming to a close, we invite everyone to take pride in what we have accomplished together this year! Our winter hours are Nov. 1 to May 1, closed Monday to Friday, Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m. We will still be programing many wonderful family events on the weekends all throughout the winter months. Please keep an eye on our website for those offerings.

From all of us at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center at Freedom Park, thank you! Thank you for visiting, volunteering, donating, attending events, spreading the word, and helping us make another travel season remarkable. Your support means more than words can express! Until then, enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons, and please remember that your continued support helps keep the spirit of Freedom Park alive for generations to come.

With sincere gratitude, thank you for being part of our story!
