The Hastings Prescott Arts Council (HPAC) is proud to announce Chris Falteisek, a Prescott native, and Ann and Bill Sylvander from Hastings, as the 2024 HPAC Arts Heroes. These

remarkable individuals will be honored at the 14th Annual HPAC Gala, taking place on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at the Hastings Arts Center. HPAC will also be making an exciting announcement about the future of the arts in our communities!

Falteisek, who now resides in Hastings, and the Sylvanders have each made significant contributions to fostering the arts in the Hastings and Prescott communities:

Falteisek began his musical journey with piano lessons as a child, launching an early career as an accompanist and composer. Today, he serves as the Director of Music at Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury and frequently accompanies services at several churches across Minnesota and Wisconsin, including St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hastings and St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton. In addition to his musical achievements, Falteisek is Vice President of the Prescott Area Historical Society and an active member of the Norwegian Lags.

Ann and Bill Sylvander have been involved with HPAC since its earliest days, inspired by their neighbor, HPAC founder Dick Graham. Bill, a talented painter and picture framer, continues to create art alongside peers at the Artist Colony in Prescott. Ann played a pivotal role in establishing the Orange Dragon Art Gallery in Prescott in 2012, dedicating countless hours to organizing artists, planning programs, and fundraising.

HPAC invites the community to celebrate these outstanding Arts Heroes at the 14th Annual HPAC Gala. The evening promises to be a memorable tribute to their achievements and an inspiring reflection of the vibrant arts community in the Hastings-Prescott area. A light dinner and drinks will be provided accompanied by live entertainment and a silent auction.

The event will be held at the Hastings Art Center, 216 Fourth Ave. E., Hastings. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. followed by dinner, entertainment, and a silent auction.
