To the editor,
As we see in the Middle East conflict, and in many conflicts in human history, injustice begets violence. And then violence begets more violence. It was a terrible attack on Israeli citizens on Oct. 7, and what has followed has been disastrous.
But if you look at the history of the Zionist movement and what has happened to Palestine and the Palestinians since 1947, Israel is not an innocent party. They have treated their Semitic brothers and sisters with great injustice, in my opinion. Yes, Palestinians are also Semitic people, as are native speakers of the Semitic languages, such as Hebrew, Arabic, Aramaic, Phoenician and others. The U. S. should be helpful in the humanitarian crisis there, but I think less involved in military aid. Military aid would be better given to Ukraine.
