A River Falls man has been arrested for the fourth time in six months on felony drug-related charges.

Andrew Raymond Jones, 24, was ordered to pay $5,000 cash bond Aug. 1 in Pierce County Circuit Court on felony possess with intent – fentanyl, felony possess with intent – THC, felony bail jumping, felony maintain drug trafficking place, OWI-second and possess illegally obtained prescription. If convicted, the maximum penalty is 25 years in prison and/or up to $100,000 in fines.

According to the complaint:

Police pulled a Chrysler 300 over, driven by Jones, at 1:38 a.m. at Johnson and State streets for having no front license plate. Jones was the sole occupant of the vehicle, which smelled strongly of marijuana. When they asked him to step out of the car, police observed a large machete in a holster near his left foot. When arrested previously, police had located guns in his vehicle. He told officers nothing illegal would be found in the vehicle.

During the vehicle search, officers located $1,327 in cash, a silver Allen wrench with THC wax residue, two iPhones and a metal stick with THC residue. While officers were speaking with Jones, another officer searching the area located a plastic baggie with a large number of blue pills (marked M30) in the crosswalk at Johnson and State streets. They were later identified as containing fentanyl. At this point, Jones was arrested. Officers also found a bag of THC near Cemetery Road and Sixth Street, where the officer first noticed Jones driving without a license plate. Police also located 14.5 pills labeled “261.”

Because Jones had slurred and incoherent speech, police put him through field sobriety tests, which he did not pass. He denied being on any drugs but admitted to smoking a blunt earlier in the day. He was arrested, taken to the hospital for a blood draw, and transported to Pierce County Jail.

At 9:03 p.m., police made contact with Jones’ girlfriend, Maria Raye Laudenbach, 21, River Falls, at their residence in the 300 block of West Johnson Street. Because they had a search warrant and her vehicle smelled of marijuana, they first searched her car, where they found a THC vape in the passenger’s purse (Renee Emily Mae Peabody, 40). Peabody was arrested for possession of THC, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping and transported to Pierce County Jail.

Officers then searched the residence, where they found multiple smoking devices, bags of marijuana, THC wax, THC gummies, a knife with wax residue, paper currency labeled “bail money,” and bongs. The residence is not far from Rocky Branch Elementary School and several parks. Laudenbach was arrested for felony maintain drug trafficking place, felony possess with intent – THC and possession of THC and transported to Pierce County Jail. She posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 3.

Jones has three other open felony drug cases in Pierce County. He is scheduled for a status conference at 1 p.m. Aug. 25.
