Ruby Geraldine Fisher, age 82 of River Falls, formerly of Ellsworth, died March 25, 2023 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. Ruby was born June 1, 1940 in Nashville, Tenn. She worked for Hinck’s grocery store and Tried and True thrift store in Ellsworth.

Ruby loved shopping and even took pleasure in grocery shopping. You’d think she was feeding an army as she would stock her cupboards, filling them to the brim. In addition to shopping, she loved crafting, crocheting, and bowling.

Being all of 5 feet tall and less than 100 pounds soaking wet, she was a feisty firecracker full of zest. She was all about trying something new and getting a fresh start. This is why it wasn’t unheard of for her to move about trying new places to live; she loved the newness and excitement of meeting new people and decorating a new home. She also had an affinity and affection for cats; she treasured her cats.

Ruby is survived by her children, Michael Dean Tyler of Arkansaw, Wis., Lisa (Jeff) Shaffer of Judsonia, Ark., Shellby (Mike) Schommer of Beldenville, Wis., Chris Brooks of Eau Claire, Wis., Ashley (Frank) Brooks of River Falls, Wis.; grandchildren Jesse (Thomas) Hauer, Dustin (Mindy) Shaffer, Jeri Williamson, Erica (Marcus) Kenall, Samantha (Mike) Wilson, Kaela (Curt) Jacobson, Sabrina (Jake) Dwyer, Cyrena Bechtold, Mingo Rodriquez, Shyanne Rodriquez; many great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her significant other Jim Weaver; mothers Edith Sullivan and Ruby Leply; sister Jean Rittenberry; and son Jeff Bechtold.

A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. June 1 at The Ridgetop, Highway 10, rural Prescott. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Big River Cemetery in rural River Falls following the celebration of life. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home.
