No Prescott basketball alumnus has gone on to eclipse that mark at the collegiate level.

From the Department of Natural Resources: The DNR wishes everyone good luck and to be safe as thousands of hunters head to the woods for the upcoming nine-day gun deer season. Hunters are reminded of the blaze orange or fluorescent pink requirement that applies during any open statewide firearm season. You must be wearing at least 50% blaze orange or fluorescent pink from the waist up. Any hats or hoodies worn must also be at least 50% blaze orange or fluorescent pink. The DNR also encourages the non-hunting public and their pets to wear blaze orange or fluorescent pink during the gun deer season if they plan to recreate on public land that allows for hunting.

In honor of the fast-approaching Thanksgiving holiday, next week’s column will feature the “thanks” and “no thanks” capsules.
Headshaker of the week: Good luck to all deer hunters this weekend. Especially to those sitting in a four sided, heated deer stand while you scan the grass to the north, the wooded area to the east, the small creek to the south, and the brushy embankment to the west. Additionally, as you go back to nature ala Daniel Boone and “rough it” in the woods, don’t forget to do what has become today’s modern essentials. Check your text messages. Film yourself with your phone in
the stand providing your own narration. Take selfies with the nearby bird or squirrel. Watch YouTube videos of people falling down. View highlights of past Green Bay Packer victories. Search for videos of people passing gas in public. Download funny videos of little kids using inappropriate language to show your buddies at work. And of course listen, to various performances of “Da Turdy Point Buck” and some other sophomoric profane-laced hunting songs. Deer hunting in 2024. It’s a headshaker.
