As football season came to a close over the weekend, the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association unveiled its All-State teams, featuring six Pierce County players.
The six will have the opportunity to play in the All-State Game in July.
River Falls
Tight end Eli Johnson and offensive lineman Sam Simpson made first team All-State in the large school division, representing against the top players in Wisconsin.
Johnson is a senior six-foot-six Iowa commit, and led the Wildcats in receptions (40), receiving yards (579) and receiving touchdowns (6). Johnson also got it done on the defensive side of the ball with 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
Simpson is a six-foot-four junior that played offensive and defensive line over the year. According to 247Sports, Simpson has offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Illinois and Kansas.
Prescott
Wide receiver Will Packard and offensive lineman David Regnier made the small school first team and were joined by defensive back Kobe Russell as an honorable mention. Regnier also made honorable mention as a defensive lineman.
Packard was the star of a dynamic passing offense for Prescott, leading them in receptions (46), receiving yards (943) and receiving touchdowns (10). The senior has been captain of both the football team and the track and field squad.
Regnier was an anchor for the Prescott squad all year long, providing consistency on the line. In his senior season, Regnier totaled 18 tackles for loss and three sacks to go along with a pair of forced fumbles. Regnier committed to St. Thomas back in September.
Russell is a junior and was another two-way star for the Cardinals, posting four interceptions, 647 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns. He currently holds an offer from North Dakota State.
Spring Valley
The final player to make the list was Caleb Bartko, a senior tight end that led the Cardinals in receiving with 313 yards and six scores. Bartko led the team in total tackles defensively with 62.
