RIVER FALLS – River Falls Public Library Director Tanya Misselt received the 2025 Role Model for Equity award from AAUW-River Falls Branch on Tuesday, May 13, its last meeting of the year.
Misselt was selected for her civic commitment and advancing equity for women and girls in the community. Under her leadership, the library programming and acquisitions have focused on expanding offerings to meet the needs of a larger, more diverse audience. At her urging, the River Falls Library Foundation supported an effort to create a history of the role of women in the library’s founding.
As director of the River Falls Public Library, she has spearheaded efforts to bring the library into the 21stcentury. With extensive community input, she was able to procure a $4,080,488 grant from the Flexible Facilities Program, setting the foundation for the "Renew and Inspire Capital Campaign" recently undertaken to complete the vision.
