Letter to the editor: East End changes

To the editor,

Not sure if everyone is aware of the East End changes. Hope you all are! I have Hair Traffic Control on Broadway Street. I wasn’t informed of or included of the changes, when first brought up. If I had and got to vote and lost I’d be fine. That’s what bothers me the most. No choice or information. I believe this is unfair and not right.

I also believe when doing construction (building a home, shed, etc.) you have to the day it starts to make changes!! Especially if it makes the cost smaller. I’m writing this to inform you the people! Of the unwanted or need changes on Broadway. Yes we know the streets and sidewalks need repair, in all of East End. Fixing is good! But we don’t need 14-foot sidewalks. As a business owner they are hard to keep clear all winter. Let’s keep what we have. Plus doing so they want to change to parallel parking. What that I will lose 3-4 front parking spots. Plus my and everyone’s business here has elderly customers. And they can’t or don’t like parallel parking.

So please talk to our village board. Tell them no 14-foot sidewalks or parallel parking. The village has now posted a survey on East End Park. It came with the April water bill. Look at it! Vote! I wish they would of done this for Broadway Street.

Hope to make changes to or by July when construction is scheduled. Help me.
