The energy of the gallery puts me in mind of the 12 days of Christmas. Here’s a gift list for my true love. 12 acrylic paintings, 11 dangling pendants, 10 knitted hats, nine stitched wall hangings, eight woven scarves, seven Christmas cards, six hand-built pots, five blown glass balls, four silver earrings, three fat gnomes, two felt bags, and a shoppe of original art.
For me some of the high points of visiting this show were Pauley Cudd’s copper foil vase, Tina Kleppe’s winter photography, Miranda Kiernan’s moon shadows, and Katlyn Manche’s stitched wall hangings. The holiday boutique features over 40 artists. It is rich in art of many types.
When you think you have seen it all – there’s a decorative pig by Cheryl Maplethorpe. You can’t leave without seeing Jeanna’s Krause’s Naughty Cat Cards and Carolina Downs has made these intricate glass mosaic candle houses. There is just too much to look at.
The highest original painting is $400. The lowest is $45. Holiday prints are available between $25-$40.
Don’t miss the Meet the Artist Opening from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
