HUDSON – River Valley Charities (RVC) is excited to announce the second annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) event, taking place on Feb. 22, 2025 in downtown Hudson. This family-friendly, “winterrific” fundraising walk supports people experiencing hunger, hurt, and homelessness throughout the St. Croix Valley.
CNOY is a unique and inspiring international event that brings communities across North America together to show solidarity and compassion for neighbors in need. On this same night, participants in the Hudson CNOY event will be joining with hundreds of other cities to walk in support of the hurt, hungry, and homeless within their own communities. By walking together, participants demonstrate a commitment to supporting those facing hardship. Last year, the inaugural Hudson CNOY event was a resounding success, raising over $60,000 – exceeding initial expectations and ranking as the #1 first-time CNOY event in the US.
Proceeds from this year's event will directly benefit three vital organizations providing essential resources to families in need throughout the St. Croix Valley:
The Hudson walk begins and ends at Midcurrent Church, right off the beautiful St. Croix River. Participants will walk a 1 or 3-mile route, can warm up with toasty warm beverages at the rest stop along the way, and will be able to celebrate their efforts together with a warm dinner at the finish line. All those who raise over $150 (or $75 for youth) will also earn the iconic CNOY beanie as they face the cold.
RVC encourages everyone to get involved and be a part of this impactful community event. Form a walking team with friends, family, colleagues, or members of your community organization. Participating in CNOY is not only a rewarding way to give back, but it also makes for a fantastic team-building activity for those businesses seeking employee give-back opportunities. Sponsorships are also available. Or volunteer your time and talents to assist with event setup, registration, or other roles that help create a memorable experience for all participants.
